The Association for Death Education and Counseling® is an international, professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence and recognizing diversity in death education, care of the dying, grief counseling and research in thanatology. Based on quality research, theory and practice, the association provides information, support and resources to its international, multicultural, multidisciplinary membership and to the public.
Thanatology is the study of death, dying, grieving and loss. Students in our MS in Thanatology degree program are hospice workers, doctors, nurses, funeral directors, clergy, teachers, therapists, linguists, and more.
The goal of this 12-credit, four course certificate program is to help students develop the advanced and practical skills needed to provide compassionate care to those dealing with dying, death, and grief - all fundamental and significant aspects of the human experience.
